All right so here's a funny story...
I was right at the beginning of the evening, here at the pc, drawing all happy, minding my own business, when I noticed some noises in the curtain behind me...Which is not that weird by itself, my neighbors from the apartaments above sometimes drop big leaves or water while watering their plants or cleaning their windows...
However it did worry me a little because it was loud, meaning one of two things : either it was water enough that was spilling inside my apartament or it was a big moth atracted to lights because of the time of the day...Either way I should've gone and shut the window for a while at the very least BUT....I was too caught up with the drawing so I post poned it for a few minutes.
A bit after that I've noticed something the size of my pc mouse flying by my side and going into the corridor! :'D I quickly stood up because of the "jump scare" I had and slowly looked over the door to see what was it. It was flying at the lamp of the corridor between this room, the bedroom and the bathroom, really agressively, and as soon as it noticed it turned to attack me as well...So I ran and closed myself in the bedroom...There I took a peek at the corridor again and saw it was this huge wasp. >.< And I'm allergic to even smaller species of that...So I put up this thick baddass winter jacket that I have and veeeery slowly took another peek to go for the kill. >.<
Guess what? The wasp was nowhere to be found... :'D So I quickly opened up all the windows and curtains and tried to make a "light path" so it would go away and stood in a corner quietly with my sandals and jacket equiped (notice that it is summer in Rio so I was melting inside those clothes >.<)....But no sign of the little critter -.-
So I assumed it had gone away, took off my jacket, and sat over my pc very warily...Not a minute past that I saw the damm thing flying in the direction of my bedroom! D= I quickly prepared myself again and searched for it....Again, nothing to be found -.- .
When I was on my way back to the pc room I saw this huge BUSH-CRICKET (yeah you read it right) flying all clumsy toward the corridor lamp. I was confused, and a little bit frustrated...Was I overreacting? Was it just a cricket all along? And how the hell did I mistake it for a wasp? Well that would explain the size of it, and either way it WAS a relief that it would do me no harm...But I felt really dump anyway ^^".
I took a deep breath and tried catching it to put it out the window, but the damm bug wouldn't stay still even though I was really carefull...I wonder if it smelled my fear from all the sweat or something...? (ugh X'D) Then it went to the most difficult to reach upper corner of the bathroom in which not even a broom fits...and stood there, all quietly...Like it was sleeping or trying to hide...So I made another light path for it to follow when it felt like and went back to work here.
Later, WAY later in the same night, about 2 a.m. , I was readying myself to sleep and noticed it was still there at the same place. Worried that I'd be as unlucky as usual that it might've decided to visit my face while sleeping, I took a few ball of dirty napkins I was already about to throw in the trash and started throwing it at him, to make him get out of his spot. A few throws later he finally gets down and I put him outside, close the window and FINALLY go to sleep at peace. He was missing a leg though. Weird right? Maybe not so much I thought to myself, bugs legs are the most fragile, maybe he lost it bumping on the lamp or something...
The week passes and LAST NIGHT I was once again readying myself to sleep, when I "feel" something is out of place. If I have a weird mutant super power it's to detect cockroaches in the bathroom (no faking, I sometimes wake up scared feeling there's something wrong in the bathroom and everytime I feel that it's a damm cockroach -.-), maybe I smell the sewers on it or something like that...Anyway, the point is that I felt there was something wrong IN THE BEDROOM. Worried, I looked around and guess what I found??? The WASP !!! It was laying in the corner of the bedroom...Not moving at all. I took some of my tools, a medical pincer(from the biology times) to pick it up and a magnifying glass to see what the heck happened. I noticed to holes at the base of its head where it connects to the torax and damaged wings near it ( CSI feelings XD). I looked around once more and noticed that one of the spider webs was ruined...But the spider was still there, right above where the wasp was.
So yeah, basically peter parker saved my ass from dying while sleeping. :'D What did we learn today? It doesn't matter what my mom or visiting friends says, I'll never get rid of all the spiders in my apartment, not only they (almost) never do me any harm , but they're also pretty usefull for more than just keeping flying ants and termites at bay. XD
*EDITED* Oh yeah I almost forgot! the cricket part of all this? Problably they entered together, maybe the wasp was hunting him, or they were fighting for territorial or whatever the reason...But I'm pretty sure it lost it's legs trying to deal with the wasp and ended up both in my apartment...who needs discovery channel am I right? X'D LOL *END OF EDITING*
So cheers to you my eight-legged friends!!! XD
