Rembrandt - line study

A facial study from one of Rembrandt's self-portraits.

I'm trying to copy some great masters so I can get better in lines shadows and such... I specially like this "scribble" style of shadowing that Rembrandt uses on his sketchs and "simpler" drawings, does anybody know the actual term for that type of drawing? I'd be glad to know that piece of info


It's in my little sketchbook in a crappy paper, and the picture I had to take is awfull since it's a little dark and has my shadow over it (creepy) , but I have no scanner so I ask to bear with me on this one ^^"
